Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has kick-started the distribution of Palliatives to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal on residents of the State, stressing that the distribution should cover everyone irrespective of party affiliation, gender, tribe and religion.
Speaking at a brief ceremony to flag off the distribution at the Government Warehouse , Ikot Ekpene Udo , Nsit Ubium, Local Government Area , the Governor explained that the State has so far received the sum of 2 billion naira out of the 5 billion naira announced by the federal government, noting that the money is given as loans that will be refunded in part to the federal government and appealed to the Federal government to release the second tranche of the fund to the State.
