At times some people used to assume that AI is a special machine that acts like human.
This assumption is not absolutely correct. The truth is that AI is a feature(software) in any man-made device that has the ability to understand principles and meanings, then take action (as a human could do).
Considering the meanings of the two words, artificial ~ man made ; and intelligence~ capacity of the brain to understand principles, meanings, patterns,etc and apply it to practice. This will affirm the fact of AI being a feature(software). This feature can be found in software apps, devices, vehicles etc. However, most people simply call these devices and machines that have this intelligence feature (software) AI.
AI is a component of technology and has been incorporated into a variety of different types of technology like automation.
It's good to note that our phones and some apps in our phones have AI feature; some cars have it; robots have it; printing machines and computers also have it.
Example: (1) WhatsApp has AI because the app can reply chat for you even when you're not online.
(2) Smart phones have AI as the phone can recognize the owner through facial contact and fingerprint.
Meanwhile, AI and its applications is now a field of study: AI is a field of study in computer science that develops and studies intelligent machines.
