Honourable Minister of Interior addresses critical issues in the ministry :
1) Nigerians can be sure that in no distant future, we will have a single point of contact and unify all our biometrics.
(2) we have to commence non custodial correctional measures as the current figures of 70% of inmates awaiting trial is not good enough.
(3) I went to Kuje prison and my heart bled, a correctional facility intended for just 520 persons was currently habiting 682 and i was told the number was even higher at some point, we need to drastically decongest our prisons.
(4) I have given the NCS marching orders and i await their working plans to achieve this.
(5) NSCDC must bring forth empirical solutions towards protecting all critical public amenities such as our pipelines among many others.
(6) Nigerians must be able to assess us on our performance, we will publish all our plans so that our successes don't come across as pleasant surprises but rather the results of great planning.
(7) We are fighting to get a toll free dedicated line for the Nigerian Fire service to compliment the national emergency line in place and great strides are already in place with out telecommunications providers.
(8) I have instructed the fire service that all their trucks cannot be parked in their stations but rather some should be decentralized especially in high density areas such as Balogun market so that these can act as first responders to help reduce our response time considerably.
(9) We are also awaiting the signing of the Fire act by the President after it passed all the readings in the house and we are guaranteed of his assent.
(10) The entire men in uniform have been thanked profusely by me for the effort they put in and the sacrifices they make on a daily basis, as the actions of a few bad eggs wont tarnish the overall good works of the many.
